Robert Goodnough's “K—M—G” adds cheer to the overpass of Metro-North Railroad's Ossining Station with the dynamic variation in light coming through the colored glass artwork during the course of the day.
The renowned abstract expressionist artist Robert Goodnough created an enduring work of art that enhances the station interior and evokes a celebratory sense of place through his use of vibrant colors and shapes. As he stated, "The designs are abstract, but the impact is concrete."
The pioneering artist passed away in late 2010. A resident of nearby Thornwood, he created paper collages that were translated into faceted glass for this project.
